Welcome to fedora-netbook!

This site contains packages designed to facilitate using Fedora on netbooks and instructions on how to install and use them. Currently, the available packages are:
  • The Netbook Kernel: a custom kernel from which I removed all unnecessary packages and optimized for netbooks hardware. It supports wireless networking and almost all functionality out-of-the-box. It includes all the latest patches and is much smaller in size than a standard kernel (config available on GitHub).
  • eee-control: Grigori Goronzy's excellent utility, compiled for Fedora.
I used to release these packages on FedoraForum.org (check out this thread, and this thread if you're interested in some history), but the large number of posts in the threads made the process of getting the needed info confusing and rather lengthy for first-time readers. To resolve this issue, I decided to launch this site which will help me keep the packages, and the howtos as up-to-date and as easily accessible as possible, while using FedoraForum.org for troubleshooting.

All netbooks are supported to a certain degree, but I can only test the packages on my Eee PC 901, so any feedback or suggestions are always welcome.

Enjoy!
